What I Learned From Tony Robbins

What I Learned From Tony Robbins

Tony Robbins gave me one of the best business and marketing lessons.

Back in 2004, I was on a group coaching call with him. This was when I did business development with Tony in Australia.

And we were doing this free coaching session called a “Destiny Process Session”. We went through beliefs, blockages, the wheel of life… the whole nine yards.

And I remember thinking to myself, “Wow! Why are we giving this away for free?

And I remember Tony said, “Give massive value.”

He loved the word massive by the way, and he always said to…

“Take MASSIVE action.”

“Give MASSIVE value.”

“A MASSIVE learner is a MASSIVE earner.”

But it wasn’t until that I started my own business in 2009, that I realized he had meant… that giving massive value builds a relationship. And when you build a relationship, that’s how you build your business.

So do you build a relationship by giving or by getting?

So many people I see out there in the marketing world and so many business owners out there are all about getting.

Their ads say, “Come and get this product.

Come get this service.

Come get this special discount.

But what relationship are you building there? Not much. It’s a very transactional one.

And as soon as your competitor down the road says, “Hey, come get this thing for a dollar cheaper.” They just go down the road.

Give as much as you can - What I Learned From Tony RobbinsSo you want to approach it from giving, which is one of the top business and marketing lessons out there. Give as much as you can and you’ll create lasting and loyal relationships with high-quality clients.

So the next thing is, what do you give?

You want to give education. You don’t want to give out iPads or anything like that.

Here’s the thing, and it doesn’t matter if you’re selling products or services. Education does two things.

Education takes time. And this thing called time, also known as attention, is very scarce in the social media world.

The average person spends 1.4 seconds scrolling each post. So education builds time and it also builds trust.

And time and trust are the foundation of every relationship.

But it gets even better than that because education also happens to be quite free, and you can instantly deliver it worldwide.

I’ve been refining this process, tweaking it over the years with hundreds of other businesses from coaches, courses to cafe owners and from authors to accountants.

It doesn’t matter if you’re selling products online or selling any type of service. It’s just a simple and profound thing when you get it right and the clients start pouring in.

Give education - What I Learned From Tony RobbinsBut right now I assume people have a lot of questions like, “That sounds good. It makes sense to me. But what education would I give?

Is it a video, a webinar, a PDF download, a strategy session?

What do I say? What about the technology to actually set this stuff up?

Well, it takes a bit of time to explain these things properly to you. It’s definitely a lot more than this quick video and blog post.

But once you start implementing what I’ll show you in your business, you’ll really stand out from your competitors and have a strong relationship with them. And nothing really beats that.

That’s why I created a special free course called “How To Attract Coaching Clients Consistently”, and it’s coming up soon.

Not only will I map out exactly what type of education you should give, what you say, exactly how it works, but I’ll be teaching you specific marketing methods for coaches and consultants which work like crazy to get your education out there.

We’re talking about things like Facebook and other social media, Google, email automation and Zoom. It’s going to be MASSIVE value, just like we’ve been talking about.

One final word. To be successful in your business long-term, you really have to have that sustainable competitive advantage. Something that your competitors can’t just copy.

And they can’t copy a relationship. So if you focus on building a relationship with people, also known as a brand, then you’ll have long-term success.
